Divine N Promise: Can't We All Get Along?

In the first volume, the twins, Divine and Promise, told of their Difficult Journey. They began with their teenage parents bringing them into a world of strife, re-lived the deaths of both parents, and recounted the events that followed in their rapidly changing lives. As Volume One concluded, they were thirteen years old. Having just returned from South Africa, they were moving to California with their white stepfather, Jonathan. Volume Two, Can’t We All Get Along?, picks up from where they left off, starting the eighth grade at a local upper class middle school. Each chapter in Volume Two looks through the eyes of these youth and their burning desire to see divisiveness and violence end.
